概要:

This position will safely fabricate, troubleshoot, rebuild, and repair plant equipment to maximize safety, quality, and uptime.

  • Receives work instructions from supervision.
  • Observes and inspects conditions of products, equipment and tools, to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

  • State of Oregon Journeyman Millwright Card (or equivalent) required.
  • 5 years of industrial mechanic experience.  Demonstrated skills in all of the following:  gas cutting and welding, SMAW welding, MIG welding, TIF welding, pipe threading and fitting, machine tool operation, proper hoisting, lifting and rigging procedures, pump and blower rebuilding, lubrication, large bearing setup procedures, shaft alignment practices, blueprint reading.
  • Expert-level skills in 2 or more of the following:  hydraulic systems, water treatment and purification systems, waste water systems, casting and curing refractory, precious metal fabrication techniques, natural gas/air mixing and delivery systems, instrument calibration, gas/diesel/electric vehicle systems and mechanical power transmission.

To supervise and coordinate activities of production crew (including offshift mechanics, electricians, shipping and receiving, and QC technicians) in a way that ensures consistent application of contracts, policy and procedure, so that production schedules are met, worker safety and quality/productivity are maximized, and a work environment that enhances participation in achieving plant goals is obtained.

The Senior Technician provides assistance to Technology staff in the testing, analysis, and reporting of new material development in conjunction with product development efforts undertaken in the laboratory, pilot plant facilities and paper machines.

  • Assist in the construction of small test devices for new applications.
  • Reviews and modifies test methods to ensure accurate and useful data.
  • Assists with pilot & production machine trials, monitoring checkpoints and collecting samples and data.
  • Carries out pilot paper machine trials for product development.
  • Fills in for supervisors on mill trials when necessary.
  • Formulates standardized reports, as required.
  • Maintains laboratory notebook.
  • Receives training on specialized equipment and may be responsible to operate and maintain this equipment.
  • Assists customers with technical service using expertise on specialized equipment.
  • Instructs others on test procedures, methods and techniques used for laboratory studies.
  • Assists in the development of new test procedures and protocols used in testing prototype products and raw materials.
